Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) is a private non-profit corporation, organized and designated by the State of Ohio to be the planning, coordinating and administrative agency for federal and state aging programs in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina Counties. It is one of twelve Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in the state organized together with local service provider organizations and the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) to form the state’s public aging services network. Job Overview: WRAAA is seeking a qualified data analyst to join our team. This is a full-time, in-person position located in our Cleveland, Ohio office. We are looking for a motivated individual to help lead our continuing effort to be more data-driven in our decision-making processes. This position would report directly to the Data Analyst Supervisor and regularly provide detailed reports that would assist upper management in determining the courses of our business. The duties of this position are generally project based, as we transition from Microsoft Access data storage and Excel data reporting and visualization to cloud-based data storage and Power BI data reporting. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to provide insights that support strategic decision-making and assist the agency in prioritizing business/information needs.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Prepare and analyze detailed documents for validation and regulatory compliance.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

 

Experience Required: 

  • At least one-year of experience as a data analyst or similar role.
  • Prior experience utilizing Excel, SQL, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Data verse, Microsoft One Lake, or a similar large database application is strongly desired.
  • Prior experience utilizing Microsoft Power platform, including Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, etc. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work efficiently with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Must have current and valid Ohio driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance, and a car available during work hours.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Math, Engineering, Business, Business Analytics, Data Science or other Quantitative discipline.
