SUMMARY

Oriden, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is a renewable energy developer focused on developing both off-site utility-scale and on-site distributed generation solar PV and energy storage projects. The services we provide include project origination and site control, feasibility assessment, grid interconnection, design and engineering, resource assessment, community relations, environmental & technical studies, siting and permitting, PPA origination, equipment procurement, project financing, construction

management, ownership and asset management of renewable energy projects. The team is venture funded by Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc., a Japanese multinational with operations globally and regional headquarters in Lake Mary, FL. Our solutions meet the clean energy needs for load serving entities, electric cooperatives, corporate end users, community solar customers, behind-the-meter commercial & industrial customers, and distribution level front-of-the-meter customers.

We are seeking a Finance Manager to support the Company’s finance activities and will work closely with the project development and commercial teams to support the development, construction, and project financing of our projects. Key responsibilities will include leading project financing efforts of the company including project financial modeling, preparation of presentation materials for management, investment committee, and external parties, and supporting corporate development and treasury activities for the company including corporate financings, M&A, and strategic planning.

This position requires a candidate whose education background is focused on finance and accounting from an accredited college or university and a MBA, CPA and/or CFA license is preferred. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Oriden.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Leading the project finance activities for Oriden projects and provide support for the financial planning & analysis (FP&A) functions of the Oriden business

Lead and/or support negotiation of definitive agreements for our financing transactions

Manage, develop and mentor junior finance staff

Excel-based financial modeling of the Company’s renewable energy projects

Develop and maintain project models with current and updated assumptions

Perform sensitivity analysis on financial models to determine key drivers, optimal financing structures and financial rates of return

Compile and maintain auditable support for financial model assumptions

Prepare investment, financing and other presentations

Participate in meetings and clearly articulate modeling results to internal management and external parties, such as banks and auditors

Prepare and distribute reporting materials to management and shareholders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Science in accounting and/or finance with a strong academic record. MBA, CFA and/or CPA license preferred.  6-10 years of related experience with preference for investment banking, consulting, Big 4 experience, project development and/or preparing and maintaining financial models and investment presentations. Education or professional background in energy is preferred.

Communication and Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, journals, complex instructions and memos. Ability to write detailed reports, procedure manuals or business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, alliance partners, customers and other employees of the organization. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in teams and apply integrative skills.

Mathematical Skills: Strong mathematical is preferred with ability to work with concepts such as probability and statistical interference as well as apply concepts like proportions, ratios, percentages, etc.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to quickly understand the basics of a variety of subjects relating to solar energy and storage; including resource studies, environmental studies, transmission issues, public relations, public policy, sales, and engineering.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Project Management: Competent in the application of standard project-management control tools and techniques including project planning, cost management, risk management, progress measurement, and control / reporting of project information. Experience managing simultaneous activities under time deadlines.

Demonstrated team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, attention to detail, strong work ethic and a drive to deliver results is a must. Flexibility to travel as required, supporting the US business plan
