Manufacturing Co-Op Engineer (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineer)

IFF provides a unique combination of functional, nutritional and economic benefits to customers through innovative soy technologies and ingredients.  The Pryor facility is one manufacturing plant in IFF’s global operation that produces high quality soy ingredients (protein, fibers, and sugars).

In today’s work environment, many companies prefer Co-Op experience before hiring new graduates.  IFF sponsors an engineering Co-Op program to provide challenging work assignments that enable students to develop skills through practical application.  Our program is designed to promote awareness, enhance education, and provide future growth opportunities.

IFF’s Pryor facility offers Co-Op assignments year round, and assignments typically include a semester and a summer.  This document offers a general overview.  Specific responsibilities and requirements may vary due to the specific needs at the time.

Major Responsibilities:

As a member of the Manufacturing Technology group for the Pryor, Oklahoma manufacturing site, the Co-Op position will assist engineer and technical resources in the following areas:

  • Provide support to engineers in executing plant trials and troubleshooting daily production and maintenance issues
  • Write experimental outlines, execute and report findings
  • Provide administrative and technical support to manufacturing
  • Provide capital project support and process design
  • Process Safety Management
  • Some shift work may be required

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to work safe and comply with all corporate/site SHE guidelines and policies
  • Comply with guidelines established by education facility’s career services center
  • Currently enrolled undergraduate as a sophomore, junior or senior working toward receiving a BS degree in an Engineering field, preferably Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical
  • Program is NOT designed for BS degreed or graduate level students
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (Cumulative and Major)
  • Possess strong math and statistical background and a technical aptitude for unit operations
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written); able to contribute in a team oriented environment
  • Proficient with MS Office package (specifically Word and Excel)
