Description
- Maintain the infrastructure and integrity of customers’ systems
- Serve as escalation point for solving technical problems and issues
- Provide insight and input on the design of technical projects
- Act as a resource on the implementation of technical projects
- Analyze customer needs and engineer solutions to meet those needs while understanding customer constraints
- Possess and maintain knowledge of network and server environments including (but not limited to) Server Operating Systems, Virtualization Technology, E-Mail platforms, Cloud Services, Networking and Security.
- Perform administrative duties including but not limited to logging hours, maintaining customer documentation, and using company-approved data entry system.
- Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
- Draft and maintain documentation of technical processes for internal and external use
- Serve as Technical Mentor to Junior Technicians.
- Exercises independent judgment in the interest of the company as a substantial part of the work day
- Obtain training and certifications to further goals of self and the company.
- Provide ideas/insights as to new products or services that the company can offer its clients.
- Perform after hours customer support as required.
- Meet (at a minimum) company Service Level Agreements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and experience
- Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWall CSSA, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP Understand network topologies, IP routing, switching, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in IT engineering
