Accounting Manager (Charlotte)

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the supervision of certain Accounting functions within the Finance department and ensuring that those functions are operating smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise some of the Accounting staff in the Finance dept.  Responsible for hiring, training, developing, coaching and leading staff.   Evaluate staff performance throughout the year in order to conduct annual performance reviews.  Identify most effective use of resources and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.  Ensure proper back-up for all positions. 
  • Take the lead role on various Accounting projects.  For example, financial statement automation, Fixed Asset System procurement, changes in accounting for financial instruments.
  • Provide financial guidance to wide range of employees throughout the company and serve as financial analyst for various projects.  For example, provide financial analysis for Six Sigma projects and evaluate customer-specific profitability.
  • Review equipment sale commissions for Tractor, Lift & Ag divisions, check for accuracy and process for payment.
  • Serve as back-up for various Accounting functions.
  • Supervise the team and provide general guidance in financial reporting
  • Hiring of Accounting staff in Finance dept.
  • Allocation of duties between Accounting staff in Finance dept.
  • Approval of Accounting staff expense reports

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Accounting Designation
  • Experience/strong understanding of the Accounting field
  • Ability to lead & motivate a team
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving & communication skills
  • Ability to resolve issues
  • Ability to prioritize work & handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Must be a team player
  • Strong computer skills, thorough knowledge of IAS

Additional Requirements:

  • Accounting Manager must be able to resolve issues in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
  • Accounting Manager may be required to work some overtime during peak periods such as month end or year end.
