Position Summary:Our Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Law Enforcement Training division is looking for an Administrative Services Technician. Basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures are required at this level. These clerical duties include, but not limited to, completing State-mandated reports, course schedules, email correspondence, answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately, take meeting minutes, correspond with Advisory Board members, follow and complete processes with course section creation, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Law Enforcement Training and Chair, Criminal Justice Technology.
Required Education/Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:Experience with the reporting program Colleague, knowledge of the Criminal Justice and Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commissions.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Great communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duty and Responsibility:1. Initiates, processes, and reviews routine and/or specialized paperwork, forms, reports, data, and/or confidential information related to assigned area of responsibility, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information; maintains related records. May record meeting minutes.
Duty and Responsibility:2. Performs various clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment, to include: distributing mail; making photocopies; sending faxes; and scheduling appointments and/or department activities.
Duty and Responsibility:3. Responds to requests for information, in person, via e-mail, and over the phone; takes and transmits messages; answers routine questions and provides information; directs visitors to appropriate locations.
Duty and Responsibility:4. Prepares and/or enters a variety of information into applicable documents, spreadsheets, documents, invoices, databases, logs, forms, and/or other related areas, utilizing established guidelines and procedures. Performs basic quantitative and qualitative reviews of data.
Duty and Responsibility:5. Drafts and types a variety of business documents, including letters, memos, contracts, and/or other related documents.
Duty and Responsibility:6. Monitors and maintains inventory which includes creating purchasing orders and monitoring expenses. Monitors and maintains inventory and supplies.
Duty and Responsibility:7. May prioritize and assign work to student workers; monitor the performance of student workers; and train student workers on work methods and procedures.
