Business Development Manager (Houston)

A personable business development professional with industrial and commercial experience to lead the outreach to prospects, existing customers and partners to support project management in creating solutions that generate and maximize revenue. The Business Development Manager will identify, introduce, nurture, and develop multi-level relationships within targeted companies and industries.
Qualification and Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferred Logistics or Business Management Knowledge in commercial (sales) or business development activities in the provision of logistical services around the Houston / Gulf Coast market Experience with the chemical/bulk commodities industry and rail logistics are highly beneficial Very strong communication and presentation skills Strong research and analytical skills to identify gaps or opportunities in the marketplace Fluent English with good writing skills IT proficient, especially MS Office Must be willing to travel locally and in the US, with occasional overseas trips

Job Tasks
After a period of learning the strengths and capabilities of the TALKE group (including time spent in other regions), work closely with the US management team to: Create and maintain a network of contacts to support the strategy for TALKE’s expansion in the US and Canadian market.Meet and develop relationships with existing contacts and continue to develop the pipeline of sales leads and customersRepresent TALKE USA at relevant events and conferencesIdentify and act on suitable business opportunitiesNurture new sales leads to secure businessLiaise with Marketing and Communications to create and publish related materials and messaging on appropriate mediaWork closely with Project Management to have larger solutions worked out and bids prepared to present to potential customersSupport in the development of business cases to be presented to senior managementPresent to customers and act as liaison during RFP/bidding processesAssist in +  negotiations and successfully close deals Ensure thorough handover to projects / operationsMaintain customer relationship during and post implementationIdentify further opportunities to increase business with existing customers Collaborate with TALKE global counterparts to offer single global solutions   Generally, support the further development of the company by: Actively participating in conferences and eventsRepresenting the company in trade associations and similarMonitoring market trends and industry dynamics that affect operations and sales efforts in the target industriesMaintaining a strong network with prospects, customers and competitors
