Job Description

Engagement Managers play a critical role in managing client relationships and overseeing the project and program success for our ELLKAY clients. The main purpose of an Engagement Manager includes ensuring successful program and project execution, fostering client satisfaction, and executive reporting. As an Engagement Manager, you will also focus on formal risk management, communication and stakeholder management. As a key team member and main ELLKAY operational leadership point of contact, you must act as a clearinghouse for all executive level communication, including escalations and routine reporting. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Client relationship management. Build and maintain strong relationships with our ELLKAY clients, understand client concerns and needs. Responsible for client experience through implementation
  • Program Management. Oversee program execution and ensure client objectives and business needs are being met. Coach, support and address challenges the project team may face and remove barriers for execution
  • Reporting & Communication. Act as a clearinghouse for all executive level communication, including escalations and routine executive reporting
  • Leadership. Lead by example, use your influence to impart change and motivate others and align work and focus on the clients desired objectives. Be a strong, stable voice during heightened or challenging situations. 
  • Communication & soft skills. Ability to influence internal and client stakeholders as a liaison between clients and cross-functional internal teams
  • Risk Management. Act as a risk management expert. Work with project managers and other team members to assess and mitigate risks associated with the projects, such as scope creep, resource constraints, and/or client expectations. Proactively identify risks, enact any relevant risk responses before the risks become issues
  • Quality assurance. Oversee and ensure projects and major deliverables meet the outlined objectives from the Statement of Work, Scope of Work and/or contracts
  • Strategic planning & thought leadership. Leverage lessons learned to enact change and improvement to processes and documentation
  • Business growth. Leverage existing client relationships for referenceability and marketing/value statements. Identify other cross-selling opportunities and transition those opportunities with your sales team
  • Provide knowledge transfers and/or host training events like Power Hours and Lunch and Learns 
  • Promote the ELLKAY organization through social media and other marketing activities

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects, client and/or programs at a time
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders using PMBOK principles 
  • Ability to mentor and coach Project Managers if and as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize among competing tasks
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required 
  • PMP preferred 
  • 5-7 years of experience in related field, including working with senior level client executives

This is a full-time position at our HQ located in Elmwood Park, NJ. Remote work may be available in the US.
