POSITION OVERVIEW
The Matamoros Plant General Manager will provide leadership and direction for all business aspects within the business unit and ensure compliance to all international regulations. The site manager is responsible for manufacturing operations, supply chain, quality, and lean manufacturing. This person will work closely with functional leaders including EHS, HR, legal, engineering, sales, customer service and finance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage employees and hands-on operation of the company’s manufacturing function.
- Ensure that, as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness.
- Business retention and the overall financial growth and accountability of the operation
- Primary focus will be on growing sales and profitability, including developing and implementing strategies, identifying and evaluating potential new customers, and monitoring the market to identify and act on opportunities.
- Day-to-day facility and staff management
- Identify and develop processes to enhance and maximize efficiencies and margin / expense.
- Make business recommendations on capital expenditure and other initiatives.
- Drive manufacturing plans, goals, and future product innovations.
- Partner with sales team to meet with customers to discuss and set scheduling timelines for product delivery.
- Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards
- Maintain our AS9100 certification, ITAR compliance.
- Develop, own and deliver annual operating plan.
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Direct the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of production standards.
- Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED Experience
Bachelor Degree in Engineering. MBA preferred
· Minimum of 5 years in a plant manager position
· 7 – 10 Years’ management experience working in a multi-location Manufacturing environment.
· Leadership and team building skills
· Experience with maquiladora factories is preferred.
· Mexican labor union experience is strongly preferred.
· Lean Manufacturing experience with Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
· Direct experience in a lean environment is desired (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc
· Fluent in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
· Must have ability to travel internationally up to 25%
