IT Security Manager (Las Vegas)

Description

Expected pay range: $91,000 – $114,000.

Summary and Scope

The IT Security Manager has specialized knowledge in IT security compliance, particularly in the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our organization’s adherence to CMMC requirements and other related security standards.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive IT security policies and procedures, with a focus on meeting CMMC requirements.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the organization’s IT security practices against CMMC guidelines, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage and coordinate IT security projects to enhance our compliance with CMMC and other relevant security standards.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership to the IT security team, ensuring they are well-versed in CMMC practices and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that IT security compliance is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
  • Stay abreast of changes and updates in CMMC regulations and other federal cybersecurity standards, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
  • Develop and conduct regular IT security training and awareness programs for all employees, with a focus on CMMC requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for CMMC assessments and ensure that all necessary documentation and evidence are prepared for audit reviews.
  • Monitor the IT security landscape for emerging threats and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
  • Report to senior management on the status of IT security compliance, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Skills and Specifications

  • Deep Understanding of CMMC Framework: Proficient knowledge of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification’s levels, practices, and processes, and the ability to apply this knowledge to an organizational context.
  • Compliance Expertise: Experience in interpreting and implementing IT security compliance standards, particularly in relation to federal regulations.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage IT security projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with standards.

  • Training and Development: Ability to develop and deliver effective IT security training and awareness programs, particularly related to CMMC and other compliance standards.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT security, to include:
  • Strong background in IT security compliance and CMMC.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing IT security policies and procedures.
    • Excellent understanding of federal cybersecurity regulations and standards.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CMMC-AB (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body) preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb and stand. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs may occur. Employees will be required to travel (at organization expense) in automobile and/or aircraft.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position based remotely.  Office hours 8 am-5 pm (ET), M-F, however, must be available 24/7/365 as needed. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends is required based on contract needs. 

Work Environment

This job operates in field and office environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets canners, and presentation materials.  There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.

Travel

This position requires 25-30% travel. Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours’ notice.

Work Authorization

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have (and maintain) a clean driving record.
