
Tesoro Group is looking for a Direct Hire Senior Network Engineer for our Client in the St. Cloud area. This would be an onsite role.
Opportunity
The Network Engineer is responsible for minimizing risk to our client’s systems and data. The Network Engineer assists with ensuring the stability, integrity, performance, and sustainability of the in-house enterprise systems/network infrastructure and all sister-company systems. This is achieved by applying advanced knowledge, skill, experience, and best practices in planning, designing, and developing infrastructure technologies across the enterprise as well as assisting in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of those technologies.
Responsibilities
- Apply standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and control processes for the Network capability and monitors to ensure compliance and consistency with the SOP’s.
- Assist with and ensure to align systems/network infrastructure goals to organization needs (technical analysis and alignment).
- Execute at a high level, hands-on technical knowledge of Cisco enterprise networking technologies (including core switching, Nexus fabric, ASA firewalls, edge and core routing, managed wireless, vLANs, DMZs, intrusion detection/prevention, evasion technologies, network load balancing, etc.) and/or expert knowledge of core server technologies including the complete virtualization layer platform (blade server systems, SAN storage, fiber channel networks, virtualization software, DR replication, high availability configurations, etc.)
- Assist with capacity planning and performance tuning of enterprise-level systems/network infrastructures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot such technologies to meet established service-level agreements and organizational goals.
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of a SOP documentation file/manual. Assist with reporting on key performance indicators to upper management.
- Provide application support experience with enterprise systems.
- Apply data and security governance and their application inside the enterprise.
- Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours and infrequent travel may be required.
Experience
- Technical College or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience with Cisco networking (hardware, software, protocols, etc.) with emphasis on large-scale enterprise LAN network deployments and operations
- Experience in an enterprise environment supporting over 300 switches, routers, and wireless access points
- Working knowledge and hands on experience with routing protocols; BGP, EIRGP, MPLS, OSPF, IGRP version 1 and version 2
- Experience with Spanning tree/STP
- Experience with Hot Standby Router Protocol- HSRP
- Extensive experience with packet/protocol analyzers and network performance tools, to find and remedy application and network performance issues
- Ability to demonstrate in-depth support and engineering experience with LAN/WAN
- Demonstrate ability to support complex, enterprise level LAN/WAN networks
- Hands on experience with 802.11a/b/g/n wireless technology and installation practice
- Working knowledge with installation and maintenance of Cisco’s WiFi/802.11 systems
- Ability to demonstrate familiarity with Network management systems, reporting and capacity planning
- Experience in enterprise networking configuring and maintenance in a 24x7x365 SLA production environment
- Provide Maintenance and engineering support for Layer 2 supporting a global Voice solution
- Working knowledge and hands on experience with Cisco Call Center Manager or Enterprise
- Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.
