Supplier Quality Manager (Milwaukee)

Job Description

Lead and manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers in support of multiple programs as well as perform supplier quality tasks as needed. The Supplier Quality Manger provides resources to perform quality flow down, oversee suppliers, verify material, and support resolution of supplier caused defects.

Responsibilities include:

• Personnel training, performance assessments, mentoring, work assignments, and recognition / disciplinary actions.

• Driving process, quality, and technical improvements and affordability

• Facilitate root cause and corrective action analysis

• Risk mitigation activities: e.g. customer requirement review, subcontractor SOW reviews, design / technical / production readiness reviews, TKOs, PKOs, RBATs, Transition to Production reviews

• Interface with internal functions including Program Management, Sourcing, Operations, Engineering, etc., as well as external suppliers and customers

• Foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration

• Analysis of SQA performance data and completion of corrective & preventive actions

Requirements

Requirements:

• This position will require a complete understanding of procurement quality tasks as they pertain to risk management, hardware, suppliers / subcontractor management, and customer support

• Ability to collaborate and operate in an agile environment.

• Ability to independently lead a team, including managing employee performance and behaviors

• Ability to develop a vision for an organization and develop and implement tactical actions to achieve the vision

• Process improvement / process control experience

• Basic understanding of quality, procurement, operations, and risk management processes

• Ability to develop strong customer relationships

• Experience working complex projects from start to finish

• Experience in driving systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative and qualitative analytical methods

• Technical / Engineering Degree or equivalent experience

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: quality-discipline management, root cause analysis and corrective action validations, statistical process control

• Understanding of AS9100 requirements

• Experience in a leadership role with direct reports

• High energy, continuous improvement mindset, self-starting, team player who achieves goals

• Experienced big picture thinker with proven project management skills

• Experience developing and executing innovation initiatives

• Technical experience with mechanical & electrical products

• Experience with AS9100, ISO9001:2000, and first article inspections

• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements
